Entry Routes to Become an Army Officer
1. PMA Long Course (Most Popular)
- Education: BA/BSc or equivalent (minimum 2nd division)
- Age: 17-22 years
- Training: 2 years at Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul
- Commission: Permanent Commission in Pakistan Army
2. Graduate Course
- Education: Master's degree or 4-year Bachelor's degree
- Age: 22-28 years
- Training: Shorter training period
3. Lady Cadet Course (LCC)
- For: Female candidates
- Education: Minimum 16 years of education
- Age: 20-27 years
- Training: PMA Kakul (separate wing)
4. Technical Cadet Course
- Education: FSc (Pre-Engineering) with minimum 60%
- Branches: Engineering, Signals, EME corps
Selection Process — Step by Step
- Online Registration: Apply through joinpakarmy.gov.pk
- Preliminary Test: Written MCQ test at designated centers
- Physical Test: Running, push-ups, medical examination
- ISSB Assessment: 4-day evaluation in Kohat (the toughest stage)
- Medical Examination: Detailed medical at CMH
- Merit List: Final selection based on combined scores
- PMA Training: 2-year rigorous training at Kakul
